Sports Day - 22 May 2012
Movement and physical exercise are essential elements supporting child development and growth. Apart from general outdoor play where children can run and climb, Semane follows a structured physical movement programme on Thursday mornings where all children participate. This Terms activities will culminate in a 'Sports Day' to which parents are invited. Children and staff have been enjoying practicing for this event and extending their physical skills.
Elephant Sanctuary - 18 May 2012
Experiential learning (learning through appropriate, facilitated exploration) is central to the Semane Pre-school educational philosophy. During March 2012 an extraordinarily special visit to the Elephant Sanctuary ,Hartbeespoort, allowed children and teachers the opportunity for personal contact with one of the most majestic creatures of the African wild - the African Elephant. This controlled exposure challenged individual misconceptions and fears about elephants and deepened their respect for Nature.
School Painting - 17 May 2012
As many parents and students know the school has been undergoing minor renovations and painting. The process is almost at its completion and we would like to thank everyone for their patience during the renovation period.
Pre-school Aftercare Service - 17 May 2012
An after-school care programme is offered from school closing (1400) to 1630 Monday to Friday. Parents/guardians who would like to make use of this extra school service should please contact the school principal.
